What is your favourite animal to work with at the zoo and why?

I love working with such a range of different animals every day and the different skills I’ve learned for each. My favourite animal to work with at the zoo would have to be Alonso the white-nosed coati. He’s always so happy to see you coming especially when you have his favourite food in hand - sweet potato! It’s also fascinating to watch how easily he climbs up and down the ropes and branches.

What conservation project do you currently support and why?

Sheldrick wildlife trust. This trust is based in Kenya, Where they work together to protect orphaned elephants and rhinos, caring for them until they are stronger before releasing them back into the wild in protected areas of Kenya.

If you could bring one species back from extinction, what would it be and why?

The Western African black rhino.

Which animal at the zoo would you say has a personality most similar to yours and why?

I think the animal at the zoo that I have a similar personality to would have to be our six banded Armadillo - Peludo! The most common personality trait we share is that neither of us have very good eyesight and both spend a lot of time running around keeping busy!

What is your favourite thing about working at BPCZ?

My favourite thing about BPCZ is being able to work with such a wide range of different animals everyday as well as learning about their specific individual personalities.
